I’m in Charge wall art is a fused glass panel. Two kiln firings of up to 1500 degrees each created it. The first firing allowed the clear background to become very smooth and shiny. The second firing, done at a lesser temperature, allows the glass pieces that become the figures to adhere to the glass. Maintaining its 3 dimensionality, but becoming one with the background, results.
In addition, I’m in Charge is decorated with bright pieces of dichroic and fused art glass embellishments as well as “millefiori flowers”. The shiny glittering embellishments of dichroic glass, change color with the lighting and come to life. Small pieces of glass, frit, “paint” the background.
The panel is 16.5 x 8.5 inches and is complete with a handmade black aluminum frame for hanging.
