Mosaic of Mountains and Lake, a fused glass piece of wall art, underwent a kiln firing. The firing enabled the small pieces of glass to adhere to the background , but not to melt into it. By doing this the pieces of art glass stand out in three dimensions. The shiny glass is dichroic and both reflects and refracts the light so that it adds glimmer and changes color. All the glass adhered together and became one piece. The foreground dichroic buildings look out upon the water with the mountains and sailboats.
Most of the mosaic pieces of glass are transparent or cathedral glass and allow light to come through.
Mosaic of Mountains and Lake can be hung on a wall or backlit against a window to emphasize the various colors. The bright and alive colors bring summer and sunshine into your home.
It comes complete with a handmade black aluminum frame.
