Woman with Yellow Hat wall art is a fused glass panel. Two kiln firings of up to 1500 degrees each created it. The first firing allowed the clear background to become very smooth and shiny. The second firing, done at a lesser temperature, allows the figure to adhere to the glass and maintain its 3 dimensionality but become one with the background. The Woman with Yellow Hat is decorated with a bright marigold yellow hat and all different dichroic glass embellishments. The shiny glittering embellishments of dichroic glass change color with the lighting and come to life. Small pieces of glass, frit, “paint” her face and background.
The panel is 14 x 14 inches and is complete with a handmade black aluminum frame for hanging at a window to get the best view of her from both sides, although wall hanging is fine as well.
