This translucent striped round 16 inch glass platter brings together colored stripes of transparent fused glass. Used as a platter or display centerpiece, in addition, it brings compliments for its brilliance. Placed in front of a window or light source the colors come through like a rainbow. First, after an initial 26 hours and temperatures up to 1400 degrees baking in the kiln the layers of glass fused together and brought the parts into a whole. A beautiful glossy finish and a very smooth surface resulted. Second, again kiln time, but equally important, the glass baked at a lower temperature and allowed placement onto a ceramic mold that shaped the piece. The glass became more viscous, at this lower temperature, and took the shape of the mold
In addition, the translucent striped glass platter is food safe and it will stay bright and shiny with handwashing.
