All bowls are made in the kiln, for a minimum of 26 hours and temperatures up to 1500 degrees. They are usually two to three layers high. The first kiln firing gives them a shiny flat and very smooth surface. They then are put back into the kiln for a second time on a ceramic mold to acquire a particular shape. They are then in for over 20 additional hours, at a lesser temperature, to allow them to become more viscous and fall into the shape of the mold.
This, very colorful bowl of many colors, would make a great gift for yourself or another. It is safe for food as it is only glass without any other material. Although it is dishwasher safe, easier handling might be a good idea and hand washing is recommended..
